Mobile Civil Legal Team
At the SRFJC, we understand that there may be many barriers to getting help for some victims. Victims who are seeking restraining orders may lack transportation, child care, knowledge about their options, they may be too intimidated to come to the courthouse, or have to choose between keeping their job and taking steps to protect themselves. AT SRFJC, we are committed to removing the barriers that prevent victims from escaping violence. Thus, we offer a Mobile Civil Legal Team that will travel to victims to provide emergency legal services at shelters, hospitals, and other safe places. Additionally, victims can meet with our attorneys at legal clinics at partner sites in locations all over Sacramento County.
By partnering with community based organizations such as the North Highlands Birth & Beyond, the LGBT Community Center, Chicks in Crisis, and more, we hope to meet victims at places and with people whom they already trust so they can get the most support possible as they navigate the difficult process of leaving their abuser.
The SRFJC has a team of bilingual attorneys who provide off-site civil legal assistance with the preparation of temporary restraining order petitions and other related family law matters to victims of domestic violence, elder abuse, sexual assault and human trafficking at various offsite locations.
Our Mobile Civil Legal Team will also provide educational information regarding domestic violence, restraining orders, divorce, parentage, custody, visitation, child support, and elder abuse.
