Volunteering at the SRFJC

Here at SRFJC we believe that everyone can play a part in helping to build violence free homes and communities. Our volunteer programs provide a great opportunity for students, professionals, and other caring individuals to give back to our community while learning about how they can support victims of domestic violence, elder abuse, child abuse, dating violence, and human trafficking. Volunteers can contribute in a variety of areas, performing direct services or helping to provide important in-direct services to victims.

Interested volunteer candidates should contact our office at (916) 875-4673 for application requirements.

Legal Internship Opportunities: Under the direction of our full time staff attorneys, legal interns provide direct legal services and assist in workshop presentations in the areas of family law, and domestic violence and elder abuse restraining orders. Legal interns will be able to practice client interviewing skills, legal research and writing, and prepare legal filings.  Additionally, legal interns will have the opportunity for court observation and receive training on trauma informed legal practice.  Ideal candidates should have experience and/or strong desire to work with victims of trauma, older adults, persons with disabilities, children, and other vulnerable groups.  Must be able to work under stress and with short timelines.

Interested candidates in the Legal Internship program should send a resume and cover letter to Tony Manzanetti: ManzanettiT@hopethriveshere.org.
